Mango hustler/vendor

Ever got approached by somebody with a note saying, “It is better to sell than steal.” Then showing you his stash of dried mangoes to sell. I did this morning on the bus on the way to work.

The idea is noble but I have my doubts. If I had a craving for a snack, I wouldn’t think twice to buy. I don’t. I’m allergic now. We’re surrounded by hustlers that you can’t pick out the nice ones. It won’t do me any harm if I pass on this pitch.

Can anyone validate if they are really out of school youth working for their tuition? I lean towards them faking.

Multi tasking Extreme

blog1.jpgWarning! Can be gross.

I went to the restroom to fix my hair then I noticed one guy taking a leak and brushing his teeth AT THE SAME TIME! Whoah!

Is the need for dental hygeine so overwhelming that he has to do it while peeing? Those 2 things are waaay opposite! You know you can opt to set aside your toothbrush, take a leak, wash your hands, Then brush your teeth.

I need a new wardrobe

I need a new wardrobeI’ve got a big problem. My wardrobe needs a major update. I’m going to Europe in a few weeks and my clothes suck. I’m not a stylish guy, just a t-shirt and jeans bloke. My jeans are jaded. I need to buy a week’s worth of trendy clothes so I don’t look like a domestic helper. Ok that’s exaggerating but you get my point. I’ve got some major shopping to do.

Phone spam (Telemarketers and MLM)

Phone spam (Telemarketers and MLM)Thanks to good practices I have avoided being bombarded by spam emails. I never post my email online. Never subscribed too mailing lists unless it’s legitimate. I never respond to spam. And I have two email addresses, one I use for public when I must provide an email address.

This weekend, I got a call from my cellphone from a training classmate on my Java training last year. She was offering me a job at a multinational US based company. Before the offer, she made compliments to my being a professional. (wushu!). Then, she asked if I’m open to a new position because they are filling up new positions on a new branch. I told her it depends on the position they’re offering. Then she replied it’s better that we meet up to better discuss the opening. So I got the details from her. I was actually happy then.

So I went to 15F Octagon Tower, Ortigas. It’s near our place so it’s not a hassle. I never bothered to do a background check. As the elevator opened, I was surprised with what I saw. A Nu Skin Pharmanex sign is in front of me. There were lots of people there. I was on an impression that she was offering me an IT job. Silly me for believing her vague descriptions. I didn’t text her or anything. I just didn’t show up.

Beware of this girl Tiffany, 09175594475.

Update: Nu skin peeps are such fanatics. Don’t bug me anymore. I won’t part with 12k for overpriced beauty products. No way!

Lemonade holdup

This afternoon I’m going around Makati to look for an apartment. The place is unfamiliar to me so it was quite an adventure looking for new routes. The apartment is just a stone’s throw away from Market! Market!. (That’s what I thought.) Little did I know that concrete walls barricade me from the wall so it’s not a straight path to the mall. I had to ride two tricycles to get to the mall.

All this transpo hopping was exciting and tiring so I went to the mall to watch the Simpsons. I loved the in your face humor of the cartoon. I bought a grape lemonade to quench my thirst. That’s my mistake. I should have looked at the price tag. It costs 68 pesos!!! And I’m not a beverage person. That could have been a rice meal. It would be acceptable if there were creams on top or the girl that served me was hot. I couldn’t help thinking what made it cost that much.
